Model Context Protocol
MCP Server
Let your AI agent create polls, read results and report on your stats. Same API key, same data as the REST API.
Connect your agent
Create an API key in your dashboard settings, then add the server to your client. The endpoint speaks Streamable HTTP and needs no session.
Server URL
https://onetapvote.com/api/mcpclaude mcp add --transport http onetapvote https://onetapvote.com/api/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer otv_live_YOUR_KEY"- •Any plan can read. Creating polls needs a Pro or Business plan.
- •Limits per API key: 60 requests/min, of which 10 new polls/min.
- •Claude Desktop reaches remote servers through
mcp-remote, which needs Node.js. - •ChatGPT and claude.ai connectors sign in with OAuth, which is coming next. Until then use one of the clients above.
Tools
| Tool | Access | What it does |
|---|---|---|
get_account_stats | read | Polls by status, votes overall and in the last 30 days, and your top poll. |
list_polls | read | Your polls, newest first, with share link and QR code URL. Optional limit (1–100). |
get_poll_results | read | One poll with the vote count of every option and the total. |
create_poll | write | Create and publish a multiple choice, yes/no or rating poll. Returns the share link and QR code. |
Every tool acts on the account that owns the key. Read tools work on every plan and are marked read-only, so clients can run them without asking each time. On the free plan, create_poll answers with an upgrade message instead.
Things to ask
- “How are my polls doing this month? Which one got the most votes?”
- “Create a yes/no poll asking the team if Friday's demo should move to 3pm, and give me the link.”
- “Look at the results of my lunch poll and write a two-line summary I can post in Slack.”
- “Which of my active polls have almost no votes, and what should I change?”
