How to find your Tripadvisor link

  1. 1

    Open your listing

Find your hotel, restaurant or attraction on Tripadvisor in a browser and open its page.

  2. 2

    Copy the address

It contains two numbers, like -g188113-d697899-. Those identify your listing; the tool builds the review link from them.

  3. 3

    Paste it above

Check the link on your phone, then print a table card or sign, or download a PNG.

What Tripadvisor allows

Tripadvisor is happy for you to ask: its help center says businesses may encourage guests to leave reviews after their stay. What it bans is paying for them in any form, and asking only the guests you think had a good time. Sending happy guests to Tripadvisor and unhappy ones to a support form counts as selective soliciting.

Penalties are visible: a drop in your ranking, no Travelers' Choice eligibility, and in serious cases a red penalty notice on your listing.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get a direct Tripadvisor review link?

Copy your listing address. It contains -g…-d… numbers; the review form lives at tripadvisor.com/UserReviewEdit-g…-d… with the same numbers. This tool builds that link and the QR code for you.

Is it allowed to ask guests for Tripadvisor reviews?

Yes. Tripadvisor allows businesses to encourage guests to review after their visit, as long as every guest is asked the same way and nothing is offered in return.

Does the link work on Tripadvisor's country sites?

The tool keeps the country domain you paste, such as tripadvisor.co.uk, so guests land on the version in your language. Open the link once on your phone to check it before printing.

Can I use Review Express instead?

Review Express is Tripadvisor's own email invitation tool in the Management Center. Availability has changed over time and may depend on your plan, so check your Management Center. A QR code works alongside it for guests you don't have emails for.
